I recently wrote a short story about a sentient fighter jet. Yes, you read that correctly. The protagonist is a sentient fighter jet jetting around doing what fighter jets do. I enjoyed building the character of a sentient jet's world and getting to the heart of what matters. My short story, Broken Arrow, examines what a sentient machine cares about, what breaks its heart and what, if anything, challenges its moral compass.

Broken Arrow starts with a glimpse into what excites the sentient fighter jet, opening with: I was blazing through the starry night sky, on a critical mission to drop a massive chrome dump. Just the very thing I was made for.
